Do you remember years ago how Polaroid was a hit?
I never owned one, nor did my parents, but I have always wanted one, and it was always exciting when someone around me had one, and used it. It was so magical! The sound it made when you clicked the shutter, that square format, the image slowly appearing out of the dark, and the fact that you had a print at hand only a few moments after.
I finally got to use one, well not a camera but a Polaroid back, when I started shooting with my 4x5 View camera. We used Polaroids to take an initial print and see if all the settings we've made on the camera are good, before we use the "real" film... I loved it! I still have some of those roids around somewhere, but most of them actually went to my older sister, as she loved them so much. I think they're hanging on a wall somewhere in her house...
The reason I'm writing about Polaroids, is because not too long ago they have been discontinued (!) I guess it got too expensive for production in comparison to demand... But there are a few out there that are trying to "save" the roids :) One of the sites doing so is a site called PolaDroid. They have created a little software to download that in a few seconds changes your images from regular to Polaroid looking. I just took the plunge, and boy is that fun!!
Here's a little self-imagery trip down my memory lane. All converted in to Polaroid via PolaDroid
Enjoy :)

very cute chica .. i might just test it out myself! I actually have a polaroid, & also a fuji camera that's similar. I sent the hubby some photos (not naughty) when he was deployed using them & will probably save the film until he leaves again.
Tali: You look like you should be a movie star! Maybe you're in the wrong place.. maybe IN FRONT of the camera would be a magical place for you! (j/k - your photography is outstanding!) I'm just sayin' tho ........... ya got the looks for it, and that smile is gorgeous! and I'm happy we're getting to see it.
Sue:)
Great pictures!!!
GREAT blog Tali!
Tali, great walk down memory lane. Love it! My dad had a polaroid camera and I only have 2 of the photos. Wish I had more. Lucky you to have such wonderful images and memories:)
Oh I have never used a polaroid, but I love how the pictures turn out. Polaroid pics inspire my photo layouts on my blog (even though my pics don't look anything like polaroids, haha).
I love the pictures Tali. You are so very beautiful and I just love your smile.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I'd love to try it. The "polaroid" spreads you created are absolutely adorable. You are such a natural beauty Tali! It looks like you have a lot of love in your life :)
Yes I remember hearing the news when they discontinued these, it was certainly the end of an era. Very cool that you can recreate them though, will have to check that out - thanks!♥
